Creative Writing - Nutshell

I told you it was a heart,
I gave you the other half.
You laughed.
Told me it looked a little more like an owl.
I can see it, I just thought a heart would be cute.
I guess it can be an owl if that's what you want.
It was always what you wanted anyway.
I'm not sure what you did with the other half,
I guess it shouldn't matter to me,
it's only my feelings in a nutshell.
To you, it's a nutshell.
An empty one, at that.
